
4TH ENGINEER
The Fourth Engineer is a junior engineering officer responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, and repair of the vessel's machinery and engineering systems. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the Fourth Engineer typically manages equipment such as air compressors, sewage treatment systems, purifiers, and other auxiliary machinery while standing engineering watches and carrying out planned maintenance tasks. This role provides valuable hands-on experience and serves as an important stepping stone toward more senior engineering positions within the engine department.
