SECOND MATE
The Second Mate, also known as the Second Officer, is the vessel's primary navigator and is responsible for planning voyages, maintaining nautical charts and publications, monitoring weather conditions, and ensuring the safe passage of the ship. As a key member of the bridge team, the Second Mate stands navigational watches and works closely with the Chief Mate and Master to support the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
