
BOSUN
The Bosun, also known as the Boatswain, is the senior-most rating in the deck department and serves as the link between the deck crew and the ship's officers. Reporting directly to the Chief Mate, the Bosun supervises daily deck operations, assigns work to Able Seamen and Ordinary Seamen, oversees maintenance tasks, and ensures that mooring, anchoring, and cargo operations are carried out safely and efficiently. With years of practical seamanship experience, the Bosun plays a vital role in keeping the vessel operating smoothly and maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism onboard.
