OILER
An Oiler is a skilled engine room rating responsible for assisting engineering officers with the operation, maintenance, and upkeep of the vessel's machinery and equipment. Working as part of the engine department, Oilers carry out routine inspections, lubrication tasks, machinery maintenance, watchkeeping duties, and support repairs throughout the engine room. Their hands-on experience and practical knowledge play an important role in ensuring the vessel's machinery remains reliable, efficient, and safe during operations at sea.
